Gem Castor “Prayer Missionary” Visits Burnie Church

Mr Gem Castor serves as one of the Prayer Coordinators for ASAP Ministries. He calls himself a “Prayer Missionary” and is an international speaker who inspires God’s people not only in the importance of prayer, but also in relying fully on God through united prayer and a deepening relationship with Him.

Burnie Church was blessed to host Gem Castor for five days. He preached each evening and led three sessions on Sabbath. Gem’s vibrant friendliness reflects the all-encompassing love of Christ for His children.

When asked about the theme of his life, Gem responds, “Total Reliance on God.” This became the theme of his presentations at Burnie Church. He explained, “In the times we live in today, you cannot rely on your own strength, your own resources, or even the resources of those around you. Absolute reliance on the God of gods, the King of kings, the Lord of lords, is the only way out of this world.”

To say Burnie Church was blessed by God through Gem’s ministry is an understatement. What the church family experienced was the Holy Spirit working powerfully in their lives and in the lives of visitors—bringing revival, reformation, and a renewed call to total reliance on the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Christmas in July - A Burnie Pathfinder Fundraiser

Each year Burnie Church hosts a Christmas in July fundraiser. Friends, family, and members of the wider community are invited to share in the celebration, experience God’s love in action, and catch a glimpse of Seventh-day Adventists.

Christmas in July is a mid-winter celebration in Australia that began in the early 1980s in the Blue Mountains, NSW. For the past five years, Burnie Church Pathfinders have embraced this theme as a fundraiser for their upcoming events.

The evening features a three-course dinner prepared and served by the Pathfinders, with guests enjoying Christmas songs and carols throughout the night. From the moment guests arrive, they are welcomed warmly, seated, and cared for—truly made to feel special.

Find your purpose in Christ, serve your church and community in different ways. Live life abundantly.
